February 2025 Oh boy…nerves are kicking in big time. So much that needs to happen in a very short amount of time. To say that I am behind for launching on May 5th is an understatement! I need to stay focused and on task this next couple weeks to place my bulk order on March 1. I messaged Olivia this week about placing my final sample order. I have requested a punch needle from three different manufacturers to ensure I offer the highest-quality punch needle. But a few mornings ago, I started to panic over my wool blend yarn. I love it, but was struggling to keep it in the fabric after the holes had already been made. Holes are left in the monk’s cloth if you need to pull your stitches out. This is usually not a problem because you can just scratch the fabric with your fingernail, and it reshapes it. But for a severely beat-up piece of monk’s cloth, this yarn just did not stay in the fabric. To be fair, I don’t think any yarn would’ve stayed in the design I was working with, but it made me nervous to offer a different kind of yarn than everyone else. I needed to measure the yarn quantities for my sample and that is why I had to pull out the whole design. However, after doing so, I realized that the most recent of my design was not the one that was printed for my last sample. More panic. I needed to update the art file, and I hope the monk’s cloth manufacturer hasn’t printed my sample art yet. I decided to switch back to milk cotton yarn. Thankfully, when I placed my last sample, I requested the sample chart so I could work with the new yarn’s available colors. During this chaotic morning, I had an epiphany that would make my kit even cooler. What if I provided the same amount of each color of yarn so that my crafter could determine the order of colors for their rainbow?! They can customize the design to make the rainbow look how they want! It will cost a little more in yarn, but I think this little touch will make my crafters happy…at least, I hope it does! So, there are many moving parts right now, and I haven’t even started my instruction manual, which must be completed before placing my sample order. Yeesh, this post is all over the place, like my mind right now; thank you for sticking with me! Hopefully, I can tell you that I ordered my final sample next week. It’s a tight timeline, but I think we can still make it! PS – here is a picture of my very first design. I loved this design but it was way too tricky for a beginner crafter. |
