December 2024 I received the next sample from Olivia, and before I completed the design, I could tell that I was getting warmer…much warmer. I received about 30 skeins of yarn, one of each color in the wool blend line. |

I also received some charms that Olivia suggested I try as a possible addition to the design. I played around with this concept, and while many of the charms were cute and would allow the crafter to add a personalized touch to their creation, I was having difficulty attaching them. I completed the pattern with my chosen color palette and was confident that my kit was 90% there. One issue that we were having a hard time communicating to the factory that produced the monk’s cloth and frame was the location of the design. Olivia told them not to center the design because I needed a one-inch accommodation underneath the rainbow. This is for the tassel-y yarn that dangles down. |

The pattern on the monk’s cloth came perfectly centered. I was bummed because I knew I would need to order one more sample; this was too important to assume that they would correct it for the bulk order. The box design was cute but I realized that I loved the simplicity of the brown craft paper box with a single color for the art. I had to redo the box. |

January 2025 I know there is plenty to work on, but I just sort of felt stuck. I know that I have to create printed instructions and a video tutorial–both of which stressed me out–and yet I couldn’t get myself to work on them. I kept telling myself, “Oh, I have time!” but know that it will be the night before launch and I will be stressed out filming my training video. Chinese New Year is at the end of January, so I planned to order my final sample as soon as everyone has returned to work in China. |
